Proposing a PR campaign to wear seat belts

Advertisement to wearing seat belts:
The PR campaign that I will be proposing will be for people of all ages to wear seat belts. Even though the "click it or tick it" campaign has been happening for awhile, people in the world have been forgetting to constantly put their seat belts on. A way for this to stop happening is to develop a PR campaign to create an advertising. My advertisement will showcase two techniques: Direct order and Appeal to fear. The technique for 'direct order' for wearing seat belts would be to simply make images and words that if you don't wear a seat belt you can die from a car accident. The 'appeal to fear' technique will have pictures of a damaged car in my seat belt campaign to warn people that if you don't wear a seat belt this is what can happen. In the end, I want my advertisement seat belt campaign to target readers fast and to see the fear that they can be having if they don't wear their seat belt.

  1. It also seems like your campaign will be using Black-and-White fallacy technique since you plan on using "pictures of a damaged car in my seat belt campaign to warn people that if you don't wear a seat belt this is what can happen". With the two options being wear a seat belt or you will get into a really bad car accident.

  2. This is a pretty good idea. We had a "Every 15 minutes" demonstration in high school about drunk driving and it was similar to the whole direct fear technique. Instead of showing pictures, people actually made it seem like the whole incident was real so it really impacted alot of people. I think if your seat belts campaign was turned into a real show, then it would really change people.

  3. Wearing a seat belt is a good topic. Maybe show what kind of fine you get if you get pulled over. I have had three seatbelt tickets which is so lame!! how can someone get pulled over for that!! oh, maybe they should be doing something else like drunk driving or have a dead body, but the cop gives him a ticket for no seat belt and he gets really upset about it...haha, that would be funny.
